Thank you for visiting the Carter Family History site. Look around and take a peek.
If any of my ancestors match yours, just send me a message?
I'm more than happy to trade information.

I'm always adding information,
so you may want to check back often and see what's new?
I'm always adding Census, Military, Birth, Marriage,
and Death records, plus Family Tree's and Pictures.

Good Luck in your research and God Bless.
This is my husbands family which I'm doing the research for him.

I have his "Dunlap" side traced back to "
William Henry Dunlap" born about 1823 in IL. and
he died in 1877 in Knox Co., TN. His wife was
Parmelia E. Gunlege who was also born
about 1823 in TN. They had 5 children that I know of named: Sarah Elizabeth, Mary F.,
Ephrim P., Missouri Ann, and James "Duge" Riley. The first 2 were born in TN to a different
mother and the latter were born in MO.

I have the "Dotson" line traced back to "
Sampson H. Dotson" born about 1787 in    VA. and
his wife "Ruth Sellers" born about 1797 in NC.

I have the "Sellers" line traced back to the "
Rev. James Sellers" born about 1759 in NC.
and he died 20 Dec 1842 in TN.

I still need more information on "
Grace Halley Perkins" born 16 Oct 1897 in MO. and she
died 24 Feb 1983 in CA. She was married to "
Arthur James Dunlap" which I have
information on.

I have the "Durnil" side traced back to "
Joseph Trigg Durnil" who was born about 1810 in
VA. and his wife was "
Francis Kimbrall" born between 1809-1814 in SC.

The "Catlow" side is traced back to "
William Robert Catlow" born in Church Kirk,
Lancashire, England.

Real Genealogy, not just links
BIG NEWS!

I started doing my research from all the Land Records I have and began with Lydia
Carter, George Eddlemon, and Benjamin & Robert Pope. With the help of
Topozone
I found out they all lived in Lincoln, Washington Co, AR around Summers Mountain.
Click
here to see the Topo Map and see where they lived in conjunction to each
other. All the land records stated they lived in Section 15 of Township 15 North,
33 West. I have scanned images of the Land Records on this website on my Misc.
Records page under Land Records.

I have also sent out over 50 letters to the people that live around that mountain
and I hope that my letters reach someone that has some old family stories or maybe
some history of the area? Maybe they'll reach one of the property owners that
knows something?

If any of this seems like a possible link in your research PLEASE contact me! I’m
more than happy to share my information.
